Cave of the Winds, Colorado Springs, CO.
The thing that stood out to me most about Cheyenne was the architecture. Well, the architecture and the light. The warm, mid-winter sun, the long shadows, and the huge expanse of sky. This is a city that reminds me of Wes Anderson – if he hasn’t already filmed here, he should consider it. There’s something about this town that makes me feel like I’ve stepped back in time. Tomorrow we head back to Colorado for a few days.
We’re staying in Wichita for a few days. The drive here was tiring but beautiful – all of the open space, the stretches of clouds and farmland. It reminded me of a long-form poem stretching out in every direction. Dusk out here is particularly lovely.
